Vigo Hill

Vigo Hill, a tough road in Kent

Located in the Borough of Gravesham in Kent, Vigo Hill is one of the toughest roads of England, hitting a 25% gradient.

Hidden away in the woodlands of Kent, the road is pretty narrow and slippy with trees and woods on each side. Use low gear. This hill is so steep that, even in a car, it is scary going down.

The climb is just a few hundred metres, 0.64km (0.4 mile), running from 136m (449ft) to 209m (686ft) above the sea level. The elevation gain is 73 meters and the average gradient is 11.40% but the road hits a really tough 25% gradient.
