The peak is located in the western part of the country, in the Zillertal Valley.

Is the road to Wanglspitz unpaved?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved, with loose stone and rocks. It’s a chairlift service track. Due to its surface and the steepness, only 4x4 vehicles can reach the summit.

How long is the road to Wanglspitz?

Starting from Schöneben, the road to the summit is 7.9 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 584 m and the average gradient is 10.59%, hitting a 20% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.

Is the road to Wanglspitz open year-round? 

Set high in the Alps, the road is totally impassable in winters. The wind is usually quite strong.
