Located in the western part of the country, the road to the summit is totally unpaved, and very steep. It comprises many hairpin turns. 4x4 vehicles only. It’s a chairlift access trail closed to private vehicles.

Starting from the paved B107 Road, the road to the summit is 13.4 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 1,739m and the average gradient is 12.97%. The trail offers stunning views of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier.

Is the road to Magnetköpfl open year-round?

Set high in the Austrian Alps, the road is totally impassable in winters. It can be done only a very narrow time-frame in the summer.
