The lake, also known as Llac dels Pessons, is located in the southeastern part of the country. Near the lake there’s a restaurant known as Refugi del Llac de Pessons.

Is the road to Estany Primer de Pessons unpaved?

The road to the lake is totally unpaved. It’s a service road for the chairlift. It comprises rocky parts and narrow sections. 4x4 vehicles only. It’s closed to private vehicles, only accessible by local taxis. At this elevation, the road is totally impassable in winters.

How long is the road to Estany Primer de Pessons?

Starting from the parking lot for Grau Roig sector of the Grandvalira ski resort, the road to the lake is 1.5 km long. Over this distance, the elevation gain is 201 m and the average gradient is 13.4%.
