Where is Llac d'Engolasters?

The lake, also known as Estany d'Engolasters, is located near the boundary between Escaldes-Engordany and Encamp parishes, in the southern part of the country. Near the lake there’s a parking lot.

Is the road to Llac d'Engolasters paved?

The road to the lake is fully paved. It’s called CS-200. The road surface is in very good condition throughout. It comprises many curves, 13 hairpin turns, and some steep sections (hitting a 12.3% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps).

Starting from CG-2 road, the ascent is 6,5 km long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 482 meters. The average gradient is 7.41%. There is generally little traffic on the climb, but it does get busier at weekends and in the main holiday season, and it gets easily crowded.
