Moussa-Achitara is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 3.003m (9,852ft) above the sea level, located in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, in Russia. It's one of the highest mountain roads of Europe.
Set amongst the Caucasus Mountains near the Georgian border, the road to the summit is a chairlift access trail. It’s gravel and rocky and impassable in winters. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 required. Stay away if you're scared of heights.
Expect a trail pretty steep. Located within the Ski resort Dombai, the summit offers a breathtaking panorama of snow-capped peaks, sparkling glaciers, turbulent, fast-moving rivers and waterfalls ringing.
