How challenging is Road DN66A?

The road, which was once concrete, is very affected by landslides and the passage of time. Patches of different sizes and heights are left from the concrete, which, in combination with the stones, give you a good chance to make a wedge. The road is narrow and only one vehicle can pass.

How to drive Road DN66A along the Acumularea Cerna reservoir?

One of the most challenging parts of the road is running along the northern shore of the Acumularea Cerna reservoir. Expect more than 100 turns in only 20 km. It is good that the driver has experience on such routes. It's not enough to have a spare wheel; you have to know how to brake, keep the bearings free, and keep the supercharger working. There is no cell phone signal on this route, so if something happens, you have no way to get help. You will need to return to the nearest village, logging site, or dam on foot.
