Bratocea Pass (Pasul Bratocea) is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.272m (4,173ft) above the sea level, located on the boundary of Prahova and Brașov counties in Romania.

Set high in the Grohotis Mountains, the road to the summit, also known as Cheia Pass, is totally paved. It’s called Road DN 1A. It is one of the most famous passes in Romania but not very well known by foreigners.

Is Bratocea Pass challenging?
The drive is extremely challenging, with a very defiant series of hairpin turns. The climb is pretty steep, hitting a 7.8% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. The summit hosts a parking lot.
