Where is the P16 Road?

The road is located in Bar Municipality and runs alongside the southern shore of Shkodra Lake, in the southeastern part of the country, near the Albanian border.

How long is the P16 Road?

The road is fully paved but very challenging, with countless curves and hairpin turns. It has many steep and narrow sections. It’s 51.2km (31.81 miles) long, running from Virpazar to Vladimir. The narrow road makes for some tough passes in places if you encounter oncoming traffic. Also, a number of blind corners should be taken slowly. The road is a delight to drive, with every kind of twist and turn.

Is the P16 Road along the Shkodra Lake worth the drive?

The drive offers sustained views of Skadar Lake, an expansive freshwater lake, home to native wildlife and a small island with a medieval monastery. The drive is very scenic with old villages along the way. This road offers a drive that is as challenging as it is scenic.
