Lake Bogovina is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 1.945m (6,381ft) above the sea level, located on the northern side of the mountain range Brustovec at Sar Planina, in the western part of the Republic of Macedonia. It's one of the highest roads of the country.
The road to the summit, located within the Šar mountains, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is impassable in winters. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point.
4x4 required. Stay away if you're scared of heights. The lake of Bogovinje is a "monument of nature". Expect a trail pretty steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. The road climbs up to 2.218m (7,276ft) above the sea level.
