Located within the National Park "Bjeshkët e Nemuna", the road was totally paved in 2021. However, the road is not easy, with countless turns and twists. Ideal time to travel is daylight. Not advised night drive. The road is 29.45km (18.3 miles) long running along the canyon of the Dečanska Bistrica stream.

The road is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions. It features steep sections, starting at Deçan, a town at an elevation of 550m (1,800ft) above the sea level, and ending at 1.800m above the sea level.
