Ughviri Pass

Ughviri Pass in the Caucasus is a drive worth taking

Pereval Ugyr is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.930m (6,332ft) above the sea level, located in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of western Georgia.

Set high in the Caucasus Mountain range, the road to the summit is paved, but very curvy, with 11 hairpin turns. The pass is 9km (5.59 miles) long, running south-north from Bogreshi to Majvdieri. The road is very steep, hitting an 11% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
