What are the most spectacular roads in Georgia?

Tucked away between the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea, on the border of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, Georgia is a mountainous country that becomes a dream for two and four-wheelers. Driving across the country is more than an adventure, as it hosts some of the most spectacular roads in the world, including Abano Pass, a treacherous Georgian road closed in winters. The peak is 2,864m (9,396ft) above sea level, on the boundary between Kakheti and Tusheti regions. It is one of the highest roads in Europe. It is also worth taking the road to Zagari Pass in the Caucasus. The road to the summit is in poor condition. Better avoid it.

And a great option to discover the country is driving the wild Georgian Military Road to Jvari Pass, at 2,395m (7,857ft) above sea level in the Stepantsminda District. And when traveling to Georgia, don’t forget to tackle the drive to Ushguli, the highest town in Europe, located at the head of the Enguri gorge. Ushguli is the highest continuously inhabited settlement in Europe.

Ushba is a high mountain peak located in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of western Georgia. An access road southeast of the peak climbs up to 3.137m (10,291ft) above the sea level. It’s one of the highest roads of Europe.

Mount Kudebi is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.991m (9,812ft) above the sea level, located in the Stepantsminda District, in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of eastern Georgia. It's one of the highest roads of Europe.

Pereval Ugyr is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.930m (6,332ft) above the sea level, located in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of western Georgia.

Pereval Rokskiy is an international high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.981m (9,780ft) above the sea level, located on the border of North Ossetia–Alania Republic of Russia and Georgia. It's one of the highest roads of the country.

Kobi Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,956m (9,698ft) above sea level, located in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of Georgia. It's one of the highest roads in Europe.

Gudamakari Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,406m (7,893ft) above sea level, located in the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, in Georgia.

Pereval Bogovatchosgele is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,972m (9,750ft) above sea level, located in the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, in Georgia. It's one of the highest roads in Europe.

Ilgar Dağı Geçidi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2,550m (8,366ft) above sea level, located in the Ardahan Province of Turkey. 

D955 is a challenging mountain road located in the eastern part of Turkey, with many mountain passes with an altitude above 2000m.
