What are the most spectacular roads in Georgia?

Tucked away between the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea, on the border of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, Georgia is a mountainous country that becomes a dream for two and four-wheelers. Driving across the country is more than an adventure, as it hosts some of the most spectacular roads in the world, including Abano Pass, a treacherous Georgian road closed in winters. And a great option to discover the country is driving the wild Georgian Military Road to Jvari Pass, at 2,395m (7,857ft) above sea level in the Stepantsminda District. And when traveling to Georgia, don’t forget to tackle the drive to Ushguli, the highest town in Europe, located at the head of the Enguri gorge. Ushguli is the highest continuously inhabited settlement in Europe.

Pereval Latpari is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.834m (9,297ft) above the sea level, located in Svaneti province, in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of western Georgia. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with hairpin curves and dangerous dropoffs. It’s one of the highest roads of Georgia.

Tskhratskaro Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.471m (8,106ft) above the sea level, located in the Samtskhe–Javakheti region, in southern Georgia.
