Praděd

Praděd

Praděd is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.489m (4,885ft) above the sea level, located on the border of the Moravian-Silesian and Olomouc Regions, in Czech Republic.

Located in the Hrubý Jeseník range, the road to the summit is asphalted. It’s said to be the highest paved road of the country. Open to traffic throughout the year, may be closed for short periods in winter when the weather is bad. It suffers the harsh meteorological conditions of the area every winter.

The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views. There is a 162 m tall broadcasting tower on the peak. It was built between 1968 and 1983. The tower houses a small hotel and a restaurant. The upper platform is used as a watchtower. It’s an unforgettable road trip. The High Tatras, Malá Fatra Mts. and Alps can be seen from the watchtower platform.
