Jahorina

Jahorina is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.887m (6,190ft) above the sea level, located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nestled at the very heart of the Balkans, in the Dinaric Alps, the road to the summit is pretty rough. This route is not suitable for normal cars. 4x4 vehicle required. The road is pretty steep. It suffers the harsh meteorological conditions of the area every winter.

The road is usually impassable from November to June. Altitude and extreme weather are always a factor at any time of year. It was the site of the Women's Alpine competitions for the 1984 Olympic Games of Sarajevo. Some parts of the mountain were mined during the Bosnian war and many remain risky.
