A challenging road from Përmet to Çarçovë
The Përmet-Çarçovë Road is a very exciting drive in the Gjirokastër County, in southern Albania.
The road is paved but in very bad conditions, with narrow sections. It links the town of Përmet (Gjirokastër County) and Çarçovë, a village in the Gjirokastër County through Petran. It’s part of the SH75 road. The route, located within the Fir of Hotova National Park, demands 100% concentration.
This road has humbled many egos. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with hairpin curves and dangerous drop offs. The road runs along the Viosa river, unprotected by guardrails. The most demanding part of the drive is 27.8 km long.
