Located in southern Albania, the Mollas-Petran road is a 4x4 gravel track. It’s a shortcut from the road SH75 to Petran.
This gravel road is 77.5 km long. It starts in Mollas, a village in the Korçë County and ends in Petran, a village in the Gjirokastër County. The surface on this gravel road is often loose, especially along the sides of the road. This track can get very muddy and slippery after rain making it challenging to get through. During and after a storm the road may be impassable, even with a four-wheel-drive vehicle. This route is not suitable for normal cars. The road climbs up to several mountain passes and crosses many old bridges.
This trail passes through remote areas, so you need to be prepared. The drive is definitely worth it. A drive not to be missed! There are many excellent photo opportunities. Don't forget your camera with lots of film/memory, fully charged batteries and an empty memory card! The most scenic part of the drive is along the Kanioni i Langarices (Langarica Canyon). The canyon is surrounded by the forests and mountains of Dangelli and Shqeri and streams in Vjosa River. High vertical walls, clear sky, a mountain river under your feet, and clean air.
