Tucked away in the southern part of the country, the road is 77.5 km (48.15 miles) long and runs from Mollas (a village in the Korçë County) to Petran (a village in the Gjirokastër County). It provides access to the iconic Fir of Hotova National Park Loop Road.
Is the road from Mollas to Petran unpaved?
It is totally unpaved. 4x4 vehicle required. This route is not suitable for normal cars. The road climbs up to mountain passes and crosses many old bridges. If you’re scared driving on narrow mountain roads, with dangerous drops, this road is not for you.
Is the road from Mollas to Petran worth the drive?
The most scenic part of the drive is running through the Kanioni i Langarices (Langarica Canyon). The canyon is surrounded by the forests and mountains of Dangelli and Shqeri and streams in Vjosa River. High vertical walls, clear sky, a mountain river under your feet, and clean air.
