Qafë Thanë is a mountain pass at an elevation of 933m (3,061ft) above the sea level, located in the southeastern Albanian mountains, close to the border between Albania and the Republic of Macedonia.
The pass, also known as Kafasan or Čafasan, is located on the shores of Lake Ohrid. There are 2 roads to reach the summit: SH3 and SH9. Both are asphalted, but pretty steep, with sections up to 7%. The road climbs up to 1.015m above the sea level near the customs. The pass is the main route between both countries.
