Crossing the Barranca River, the wooden bridge is 75.06 m (246.27 ft) long. It carries the Ruta Nacional Terciaria 742 (Route 742).

Is Puente San Jerónimo still in use?

The bridge is located on the 6 km road from San Jerónimo to Esparza. Due to its hazardous condition, it was bypassed by a modern bridge, which is equally narrow but paved.
