If you love to drive, you'll love the Haast Highway
Haast Highway is a spectacular and scenic drive located on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It's one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world.
The road is part of the State Highway 6. It’s paved and links Haast, an area in the Westland District territorial authority and the Fox Glacier in Westland Tai Poutini National Park. It’s 118 km (73.32 miles) long.
This is a remarkable road trip. Make sure you leave enough time to make plenty of stops along the way. It’s an incredible drive where you will drive right along by the coast at various times. There are lots of places to stop, little hidden bays and places to take in the scenery.
