What are Big Red and Little Red tracks?

Tucked away in the Glasshouse Mountains, Big Red and Little Red are two challenging tracks that many drivers aspire to conquer. To tackle these tracks, you need a capable 4WD, a good spotter, and a lot of skill. Big Red is particularly intimidating, while Little Red is still very difficult in its own right. Seeing these tracks in person is recommended, as videos do not capture their full difficulty. The scattered wreckages and old parts serve as a testament to the tracks' challenges.

How difficult are Big Red and Little Red?

The roads are now officially bulldozed and flattened for powerline maintenance, acting as a service road for the forestry. Both roads are difficult and tough: vehicle rollovers are a common sight out here. The tracks require low range, high ground clearance, traction aids, and recovery gear. It’s suited for well-equipped 4WD vehicles and those with experience in vehicle self-recovery. The routes should not be underestimated. In dry conditions, lifted vehicles with mud terrain tires may manage the tracks without too much difficulty. However, muddy conditions ensure that your recovery gear will be getting repeated use.
