Travel guide to Moonbi Park lookout
Perched on a huge granite outcrop at an elevation of 754m (2,473ft) above the sea level, the Moonbi Park lookout is located in the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia.
Set high in the Moonbi Range mountain range, the road to the lookout is called Moonbi Lookout Road. It’s 750m long just off the New England Highway. The road to the lookout from the highway winds up a short easy grade and it’s suitable to tow a caravan.
The road is totally paved but narrow in parts and steep. The lookout was built in 1938 by the Cockburn Shire Council and the views will take your breath away, with some beautiful views of Moonbi, the Cockburn Valley and beyond. At the top there is plenty of room for overnight parking.
