Oolloo Road

Driving the scenic Oolloo Road

Oolloo Road is a scenic drive located in the heart of the Northern Territory of Australia.

The road is 69.1 km (42.93 miles) long, running north-south from State Route 23 (Dorat Road) to Oolloo Crossing Conservation Area. It’s paved to Douglas-Daly and unpaved beyond.

Heavy or prolonged rain can cause local flash floods that cover the road with water or wash out culverts or bridges. In the dry season the road is accessible with a 2WD. Remember this is a Saltwater Crocodile area. Note when you see Daly River do not try to drive your car down to the river. Make sure you use insect repellent.
