The mountain is located in the southeastern part of the country, within Deua National Park. The summit hosts a lookout known as Dampier Lookout. Snow falls occasionally at this trig point in the winter, which can increase the difficulty level by a few stars!

The road through the pass is 24km (15 miles) long, running west–east from Badja to Deua. The road heads towards Bendethera Valley and features a lot of switchbacks.
