Located in the southern part of the country, within the Grampians National Park, the road is totally unpaved and a 4x4 vehicle is required. This old 4WD track becomes rutted in places and slippery, particularly near Brim Springs. It tops out at 339 meters (1,112ft) above sea level.

The road is 9.6 km (5.96 miles) long, running east-west from Mt Victory Road (C222) to Rosebrook-Glenisla Road.
