Chorbat La

Chorbat La is an international high mountain peak at an elevation of 5.141m (16,866ft) above the sea level, on the border of India and Pakistan. It's one of the highest roads of the country.

Located in the Himalayan range, the road to the summit is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy with several hairpin turns near the end. It is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). Nestled in the midst of towering cliffs and peaks, the pass links the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir (India) and the Ghangche District of Gilgit-Baltistan (Pakistan). Very few tourists visit here since the route is tough and there are permit issues. 4wd vehicle required. Expect a trail pretty steep. There are high chances of getting affected by AMS (Altitude Mountain Sickness).
