How long is the road from Bahrain to Kalam?

Most of the road is paved and runs parallel to the Swat River. While it's open to all motorized vehicles, a 4-wheel drive is highly recommended. The road can be extremely challenging; attempt it in a 2wd car only if you're ready to part with it. This road is a segment of the main N-95 route. Although just 34.8 km (21.62 miles) in length, anticipate a 5-hour journey without stops due to the terrain.

Is the road from Bahrain to Kalam challenging?

Situated in the Kalam Swat valley, this stretch connects Bahrain (elevated at 1,426 meters above sea level) to Kalam (2,001 meters above sea level). Exercise extreme caution: the mountainous route features hairpin bends and perilous drop-offs. Anticipate potential landslides, flash floods, and traffic congestions. If you're prone to vertigo or have an aversion to landslides, this might not be the drive for you.
