
The road to Ulaagchini Davaa is not for the faint of heart
Ulaagchini Davaa is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.086m (10,124ft) above the sea level, located in Bayan-Ölgii Province in western Mongolia.
Set high in the Altai Mountains, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Deluun-Bulgan road. A 4x4 vehicle is required. The ascent is tough, hitting a 9.5% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. This road is usually impassable from late October through late June or early July (weather permitting). If you do choose this route please check up to date information. The drive is challenging, with 10 hairpin turns on the way to the summit.
