Pereval Teskeytorpo

Terskey Torpok Pass: Ultimate 4wd destination

Pereval Teskeytorpo is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.160m (10,367ft) above the sea level, located in the Kochkor District of Kyrgyzstan.

Located in the Tian Shan mountains, the road to the summit, also known as Terskey Torpok Ashuu, is unpaved. 4wd cars only. This area is known for the fact that fog often falls on the pass. It is so dense that visibility is practically zero. The final part of the climb includes 25 hairpin turns.

It’s usually impassable from November to March. The road to the pass is constantly turning into serpentines and the slope is steep enough. It is one of four passes leading up to Son-Kul lake. Even in July there can be snow up there so dress warm and be ready for anything.
