How to get by car to Shemshak, the second largest ski area in Iran?

Shemshak is a ski resort at an elevation of 2,600m (8,530ft) above sea level, located in Rudbar-e Qasran District of Shemiranat County, Tehran Province, Iran.

Where is Shemshak?

Shemshak is said to be the second largest ski area in the country. Set high in the Alborz Mountain Range, the resort came into operation in 1958.

Is the road to Shemshak paved?

Located in the northern part of the country, the road to the resort is fully paved. It’s called 425. It is steep and includes very narrow sections. The route is stunning—there are interesting towns to stop at on the way, and if you're hungry, try out the amazing kebabs.

How long is the road to Shemshak?

The road through the resort is 52km (32 miles) long, running south-north from Kushkak (in Nesa Rural District, Asara District, Karaj County, Alborz Province) to Lavasan (the capital of Lavasanat District of Shemiranat County, Tehran Province). Beyond the resort, the road leads to Dizin, another ski resort in the country.
