The paved road to Surtok La with stunning views of Pangong Lake
Surtok La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4,356m (14,291ft) above sea level, located in the Leh district of Ladakh, India.
Is Surtok La paved?
Set high in the northern part of the country, the road to the summit is fully paved and in pretty good condition. It’s called Pangong Lake Road. The road is very curvy and includes narrow parts, with many steep sections while climbing higher.
How long is the road through Surtok La?
The road through the pass, also known as Surtokh La, is 33km (20 miles) long, running from Tangtse to Pangong Lake. The drive is very scenic as it provides great views of the lake.
