The Volkswagen’s fully-electric prototype ID.R driven by Romain Dumas (F) completed the road in 7:38.585 minutes – faster than ever before. The vehicle is driven by two electric motors with a total system performance of 500 kW (680 PS), riding on tailor-made Bridgestone Potenza tyres.
Fabio Barone, an Italian driver, covered the route in just 10 minutes 31 seconds with his Ferrari specially modified for the attempt, shaving crucial kilos off its weight by swapping metal for carbon fibre parts.
