Heaven's Gate is one of China’s most famous landmarks
Located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province, China, Heaven's Gate is one of China’s most famous landmarks.
Tucked away in the Tianmen Mountain National Park, Heaven's Gate is a stunning rock arch that soars among the clouds. One of the world's most spectacular locations, the massive staircase leading up to the natural rock arch is an intimidating climb on foot as it is. The path to Heaven’s Gate is actually a staircase with 999 daunting steps, and an incline of 45 degrees. Visitors can get there using the cablecar, or by choosing the harder way, the 999 steps that lead to the site.
Sloped at a 45 degree angle, the new Range Rover Sport PHEV, piloted by Panasonic Jaguar Racing Formula E driver Ho-Pin Tung, tackled the famous Heaven's Gate rock. There’s good reason why no car has ever attempted such a feat. It’s utterly, utterly terrifying. Land Rover has alleged that the Range Rover Sport is the first SUV to reach Heaven’s Gate.
