Why is Heaven's Gate famous?

Tucked away in the Tianmen Mountain National Park, Heaven's Gate is a stunning rock arch that soars among the clouds. One of the world's most spectacular locations, the massive staircase leading up to the natural rock arch is an intimidating climb on foot. The path to Heaven’s Gate is actually a staircase with 999 daunting steps and an incline of 45 degrees. Visitors can reach there using the cable car or by choosing the harder way, climbing the 999 steps leading to the site.

Can an SUV drive through Heaven's Gate?

Sloped at a 45-degree angle, the Range Rover Sport PHEV, piloted by Panasonic Jaguar Racing Formula E driver Ho-Pin Tung, tackled the famous Heaven's Gate rock. There’s good reason why no car has ever attempted such a feat. It’s utterly, utterly terrifying. Land Rover has alleged that the Range Rover Sport is the first SUV to reach Heaven’s Gate.
