The road to the summit is total unpaved. It’s called 217 Provincial Road (S217). The road features narrow parts, steep sections and 18 sharp hairpin turns. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

The road through the pass is 20.0 km long, running west-east from Dayong Village (in
Xiangcheng County) to Gulou (in Daocheng County).
Is the road to Wuyishan Pass open year-round?
Set high in the Hengduan Mountains, the pass receives heavy snowfalls in winters, and closures are common.
