The road was recently paved and now it’s drivable by passenger vehicles. However, it’s not an easy drive due to its elevation. At this height, oxygen levels drop and visitors need to take adequate precautions against AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). The road tops out at 5,160m (16,929ft) above sea level, at Longga La.
