The Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway is one of the most congested roads on Earth. The road is 2,717 km long.
The road, part of the China National Highway 105, links Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China and the world's third most populous city and Zhuhai, on the southern coast of Guangdong province. The road is the famous due its massive 50 lane traffic jams that happen routinely around Chinese New Year.
The road is asphalted, has 50 around lanes, but traffic after the holidays tend to be pretty awful. Part of the road running through northern Guangdong, has been given the nickname “Vehicle Killer.” It’s famous for accidents—because overloaded trucks, steep mountainous roads, and extreme winter cold. Aerial footages captured the horrendous congestions.
