Bayanka La

Driving to the summit of Bayanka La

Bayanka La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.950m (16,236ft) above the sea level, located in Madoi county of Qinghai province, in China.

The road to the summit, also known as Trawo La, is called Highway 214. It’s asphalted. It’s not very steep, but just very long and continuous. The pass borders between Amdo province and Kham province. On the approach to the pass there are fine views of the rolling humps of the Bayankala range to the east of the road.
