Gushuang Cliff Tunnel Road is the name of a very defiant drive located in Gulin County, in the south of Sichuan Province, in China. It’s one of the most famous Chinese tunnel roads.
How long is the Gushuang Cliff Tunnel Road?
The road is 33.8 km (21 miles) long running from Gulin to Shuangsha. It’s extremely narrow and impassable for 2 cars at the same time. The movie "Hands Up" was filmed here.
When was the Gushuang Cliff Tunnel Road built?
Running through the Xinyan Gorge, the road was built in the early 1980’s, carved out by hand with explosives and hammers. It is said that 20 or 30 people died in the construction.
