Driving the scary Blade Sky Road with cliffs on both sides
Located in Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, in southeastern Chongqing, China, Blade Sky Road is the name of a very defiant road.
Set high on the Qiyao Mountain, about 230 kilometers away from Chongqing City, the thrilling road is totally paved with concrete and features dangerous cliffs on both sides. The locals call this road the back of a knife. It has a vertical drop of more than 600 meters. Driving on this road, the car is like driving on a curved, saber blade.
The road is around 3km (1.86 miles) long running from S202 road to Xiaofengmen in the middle of the mountains. The road was built by Wind Energy Group to develop power generation windmills on the summit of the ridge. It has become a magnet for self-driving travel enthusiasts and photographers.
