
The road to Luanshi Daban is not for the faint of heart
Luanshi Daban is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 5.412m (17,755ft) above the sea level, located in the Xinjiang autonomous region of China.
Set high in the northwestern part of the country, in the Huoshaoyun Mountain Range, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. 4x4 vehicles only. The road to the summit is 89.6 km (55.67 miles) long, starting at the paved G219. The road is almost flat, hitting a 5% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. Expect extreme mountain weather and high altitude risks.
