Dzekri La, an absolute must for road lovers
Dzekri La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.693m (15,396ft) above the sea level, located in Riwoche county, in the prefecture-level city of Chamdo in the northeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
The road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called China National Highway 317 (G317). When the snow falls - which it does in the winter – things get tough and slippery. The pass is 81.2 km (50.45 miles) long, running west-east from Jue'enxiang to Kamaduoxiang. The climb features steep sections, hitting an 8% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
