Tucked away in West Mountains, the winding road is totally paved. It’s called X045 County Road (aka Hongjing Road). The road is 18,7 km (11.61 miles) long, running from Honggangkou (in Wolong Village, Shidu Town) to Jing’eryu (in Xiayunling Village), at National Road 108.
The road is very steep, hitting a 12% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. It includes 21 hairpin turns. The road is also known as “Devil Road”. It’s said to be the most beautiful road in Beijing province.
