A road through West Taiji Nai´er Lake
West Taiji Nai´er Lake (Xitai Jiner Lake) is a beautiful two-color lake located in Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai, in China.
Set high at 2.691m (8,828ft) above the sea level, the G315 National Road (China National Highway 315) passes through the lake in the middle, dividing the lake into two. One side of the lake is blue and the other is green.
The road through the lake ("Mandarin Duck Hot Pot”) is totally paved but not for the faint of heart. It lacks protections and guardrails. The lake was formed 2.6 million years ago. When you drive through the lake it’s possible to park your car on the side of the road right in the middle of the lake.
