Cuo Ga Bu Lake

Driving the road to Cuo Ga Bu Lake is not a piece of cake

Cuogabu is a glacial lake at an elevation of 5.229m (17,155ft) above the sea level, located in Kangmar County of Xigazê in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

The road to the lake is totally unpaved. A 4x4 vehicle with high clearance is required. The area is pretty remote, so facilities like electricity, medical aid, hot running water, western toilets etc. are rare to find. Always check the weather forecast before you start your journey: adverse conditions are common.
The drive offers amazing scenery. Starting at Dilicun, a small village, the road is 24km long. It’s a pretty steep drive, hitting a 14% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps.
