The road is totally unpaved and very challenging with hairpin turns and blind corners. It’s 19.2 km (11.93 miles) long, running north-south from China National Highway 214 to Gaiwa, a small village on Nujiang River. The road is pretty steep and tops out at 4.287m (14,064ft) above the sea level. 4x4 vehicle recommended. Drive at moderate speed. You’re not on a race.
