The road to Birukangqing La is not for the faint of heart
Birukangqing La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 5.288m (17,349ft) above the sea level, located in Biru County, within Nagqu of the Tibet Autonomous Region, in China.
The road to the summit is totally unpaved and very curvy, with countless hairpin turns. Remember this is a mountainous area, climbing up a high mountain, with a notorius absence of oxygen. Altitude and extreme weather are always a factor. 4x4 vehicle required.
The curvy road to the summit is very steep. The pass road is 54.6 km (33.92 miles) long, running north-south from G317 road to 303 Provincial Road (S303). The road links the towns of Xia'e to the south with Suo Gongsongduo to the north.
