Lung La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 5.216m (17,112ft) above sea level, located in Gyaca County, a county of Shannan located in the Tibet Autonomous Region, China.
Where is Lung La?
The pass is located in the south-eastern part of Tibet. Near the summit there are two pristine lakes: Ge Salangcuo and La Mulacuo.
Is Lung La unpaved?
The road to the summit is totally unpaved and very steep. It comprises many turns and a few hairpin turns near the pass. SUV vehicle with high clearance required.
How long is the road to Lung La?
The pass is 33km (20 miles) long running from Cijiuxiang to Jilongnacun. At this elevation, the road is totally impassable in winters due to heavy snowfalls.
