Penma La

Penma La: a rough and bumpy road

Penma La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 5.321m (17,457ft) above the sea level, located in Ngamring County, a county of Xigazê in the Tibet Autonomous Region, in China.

The road to the summit is totally unpaved. 4x4 vehicle required. The pass links the Dotra and Nagma valleys. The area is very desolate and remote. Accessibility is largely limited to the summer season. Facilities like electricity, medical aid, hot running water, western toilets etc. are rare to find.
