
X605: enjoy a road among the clouds
605 County Road (X605) is a high mountain road located in Ngari Prefecture, in China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The road is unpaved. It’s 169 km (105 mile) long, linking the villages of Jilingjiadongcun and Gomo. 4x4 vehicle required. The road is totally impassable in winters running firmly above 5.000m above the sea level. The road tops out at 5.282m (17,329ft) above the sea level. It’s very scenic, with stunning views of Dongcha, Beiyuhu, Bensong Co, Gang Tangcuo and Yibug Caka, 5 of the highest lakes in the world.
